Enjoy a walk in the forest or just sit quietly and view the beauty of North Idaho.  Surrounded by the Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains, there is no view of the neighbors.  The River Cabin and Cedar Grove campsite are situated in 15.4 acres of Certified Family Forest.  If you hear the rumble of a train at night, it's because the Union Pacific passes along the opposite edge of the property.  There are many deer, birds, and other wildlife on the property.  There is no mobile phone service.  A land line phone is available at the host's cabin for emergency use.  Local calls and emergency calls are toll-free.  Personal calls outside the area can be made with a prepaid calling card.

RIVER LOG CABIN:

A log cabin overlooking the unspoiled Moyie River is available at Iron Horse.  The log cabin has electricity, a small refrigerator with freezer compartment, a wood stove , electric heat, a hot plate, Keurig coffeemaker, and toaster oven.  It has twin-sized bunk beds and a small loft that could be used as an additional small sleeping area.  An outhouse is nearby.  The cabin does not have water, but a spigot at the host's cabin can be used and is a short haul to the cabin.  A small wagon is on-site for moving larger water containers.  A camping area between the cabin and river has a fire pit, a shelter with a USFS style charcoal grill, benches and picnic table.  Size wise, it is ideal for a couple.  There is room for a tent at the fire pit area for additional guests.

​​CEDAR GROVE TENT CAMPING:

The riverside campsite is about 30 yards from the river.  There is a large pasture along the river for walking, or sitting to enjoy the beauty of North Idaho.  A fire pit is right next to the camp site and a large shelter with USFS-style charcoal grill, swing, picnic table, and bear-proof storage is next to the fire pit.  There is also an outhouse nearby for the campsite.

CEDAR GROVE RV AND TRAILER CAMPING:

The RV and Trailer campsite is about 40 yards from the river and is adjacent to the shelter.  There is room for an RV or Trailer up to 21' long.  Anything up to 15' can use the Cedar Grove Tent Campsite.  A fire pit is right next to the RV and Trailer campsite and a large shelter with USFS-style charcoal grill, swing, picnic table, and bear-proof storage is next to the fire pit.  There is a 100’ water hookup hose and the power post has been completed. Be sure to bring a good 120 VOLT EXTENSION CORD or a GENERATOR.

 

NOTE:

The RV and Trailer campsite and tent campsite will not be booked at the same time, to keep it more private.
